Urban Pathways Regional Training

Wuppertal Institute, in partnership with UN-Habitat, and UN Environment organises the training

A regional training workshop will be organised from 6 to 7 September 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya, on urban energy, mobility and resource management issues. The Wuppertal Institute, in partnership with UN-Habitat, and UN Environment organises the training event for local and national government officials. The 2-day workshop in Kenya will focus on implementation action of the project in Africa considering the UNFCCC’s Paris Agreement in the context of the New Urban Agenda and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The challenges and opportunities in urban areas for low-carbon urban basic services, to initiate similar discussions in Africa through establishing a knowledge sharing network, to elaborate on integrated project solutions in the fields of urban energy, mobility and resource management and to seek for cooperation with relevant authorities, projects and initiatives. Representatives from Accra and Casablanca will join the workshop in Nairobi as partner cities to share their experiences.
