Cooperation agreement between the Wuppertal Institute and the Korea Energy Information Culture Agency (KEIA) to drive energy system transformation forward

Prof. Dr. Manfred Fischedick, Vice-President of the Wuppertal Institute and Prof. Sun-Jin Yun, Chairman of the Korea Energy Information Culture Agency (KEIA) met at the Wuppertal Institute on 19 November 2018 to discuss issues of energy system transformation in Germany and South Korea, to exchange experiences and to initiate future cooperation.
KEIA was founded by the new Korean government and is to take care of the further development of the energy system transformation in South Korea in the future. Fischedick and Sun-Jin Yun discussed the energy and climate policy goals as well as the implementation plans of Korea. They discussed similarities and differences in energy system transformation in the respective countries and worked out where they could learn from each other.

Manfred Fischedick signed a cooperation agreement with KEIA. The aim of the agreement between the Wuppertal Institute and KEIA is to exchange experiences on energy system transformation and climate change. The aim is to jointly provide the public with objective and scientific information on the energy system transformation process. The cooperation should contribute to the achievement of national goals and to the advancement of the global energy transformation path.

The conversation was accompanied by a major Korean reporter from the Kyung Hyang Daily News. The journal will now report regularly on the work of the Wuppertal Institute and has already published a first article, which can be found in the following link.
