With the Federal Chancellor Fellowship Programme the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors prospective leaders from the USA, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, Brazil and India of professional fields, such as politics, public administration, business, society and culture. The fellows are given the opportunity to spend a year in Germany networking with other prospective leaders from abroad and to explore new solutions to the global issues of our times. The programme is under the patronage of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In the End of March, during a two-week study tour the fellows familiarise with the current social, political, cultural, economic, and historical conditions in Germany. The tour for 50 German Chancellor Fellows started from Hamburg, Germany and will end in Brussels, Belgium, led to the Wuppertal Institute on 9 April 2019. One of the fellows, Vivek Jaisree Mohandas from South India, is hosted by the Wuppertal Institute and currently researches in the Circular Economy Division into the subject of construction and demolition waste recycling.

Dr.-Ing. Stephan Ramesohl, Project Co-ordinator in the Circular Economy Divison at the Wuppertal Institute, gave a lecture on circular economy and the perspectives and potentials of digitisation as a solution contribution. The second presentation by Carina Koop, Research Fellow in the same Division, gave the prospective leaders the opportunity to get an insight into the current project RemanPath from the EIT Raw Materials. The fellows could test the learning material which was developed for the project in an interactive part themselves. Following the lectures, the questions of the fellows were answered in a panel discussion.
