The IPCC special report on global warming of 1.5 degrees is an alarming call to action reaffirming the urgency oft the Paris Agreement's goals.
The International Climate Conference (ICCA2019) will take place from 22 to 23 May 2019. The conference is organised by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg and the City of Heidelberg. Executives from national and sub-national governments, high-ranking representatives of international organisations, initiatives and networks will take part in interactive debates and discuss how coordination and cooperation across all levels of government can be improved and thus climate protection measures strengthened.

ICCA2019 offers a varied and dialogue-oriented programme comprising three plenary sessions and several parallel interactive cluster sequences. Oliver Lah, Head of the Mobility and International Cooperation Division at the Wuppertal Institute will moderate the session on "Enhancing Collaborative and Ambitious Climate Action in the Transport Sector" on 22 May. He will share updates on recent implementation actions in the context of the Urban Pathways project.
