The aim of this project is to develop a frame programme that enables a considerable reduction of CO2-emissions in the Hannnover region until 2020. The Hannover region and the project team will arrange all programme activities with the most important stakeholders.
Eight working groups support the development of this programme:

- Energy Economy Working Group
- Community Working Group
- Agriculture and Forestry Working Group
- Mobility Working Group
- Property Management Group
- Economy Working Group
The communities are requested to implement the programme to achieve the predetermined reduction of CO2-emissions. Primarily, the energetic standards of buildings in the Hannover region should be considered.
This climate protection programme will be a helpful guide for citizens, entrepreneurs and public institutions on how to increase the use of renewable energy sources and how to achieve a significant rise of energy efficiency as well as energy economisation.
