Creation of a Central Information-, Communication-, and Cooperation System for the German Adaptation Strategy

  • Project no.1150
  • Duration 04/2008 - 05/2009

Within the framework of the national Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, the Federal Ministry for Environment assigned the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) to implement the competence centre "Climate Impacts and Adaptation" (KomPass). It aims to report and assess the so far existing risks and impacts of climate change on national and regional level as well as already the existing concepts and measures. Furthermore, the centre is to identify policy recommendations, to implement networks and to communicate results to the public.
On behalf of UBA, the IKU GmbH Dortmund, tetraeder.com and the Wuppertal Institute are jointly developing the following services for the competence centre:

  • a communication concept about the development of the national adaptation strategy,
  • a computer-assisted consultation concept and
  • a brochure for public information.
