Benefits from Cooperations between EU Recycling Sector and Serbian Industry

  • Project no.351234
  • Duration 01/2018 - 12/2018

"Circular Serbia" is a one-year regionalization project under the framework of KIC Raw Materials. Led by Wuppertal Institute, the project consortium consisting of RWTH Aachen and TU Delft, together with Western Balkans Consulting, and contacts to the Chamber of Commerce Serbia, GIZ Serbia, and University Union-Nikola Tesla, will be organizing and inviting study visits for eight selected experts and professionals from industry, research and education – all stemming from Serbia. Based on the study visits in respective European institutions and organisations dealing on a forerunner level with different issues of circular economy, the project consortium will jointly develop a feasibility study for a recently finalized circular economy strategy in Serbia. The project closes with a big networking event in Serbia that aims at the presentation of the feasibility study and an intensified regional cooperation in the Balkan region.

The project addresses a clearly identified need in one of the priority regions for the KIC and offers a possibility to support the transformation towards a circular economy.
