RemanPath

Building Lifelong Education Through Finding Company Path to Remanufacturing

  • Project no.351492
  • Duration 01/2018 - 12/2018

"RemanPath" is an almost two-years learning and education project under the framework of KIC Raw Materials. Led by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, the project consortium consisting of Coventry University London, DIMECC, Institut polytechnique de Grenoble, Oakdene Hollins, TU Delft and WI, will be developing an educational package for remanufacturing and hold ten workshops with different SMEs in five countries – the aim is to support the SMEs' plans of their own development paths to remanufacturing. This project is motivated by the fact that Europe only remanufactures 2 per cent of products today, yet this can easily be significantly increase in the near future. To make that increase possible however requires developing the competences of companies, particularly SME manufacturing firms.

The Wuppertal Institute will be leading the first package, which is the development of a comprehensive feasibility study on market options of educational remanufacturing material. Included tasks are to find answers to questions such as: What kind of different groups can be targeted and what is their basic education and experience? What are existing learning packages related to remanufacturing and what are their gaps? How is the future market feasibility of new learning packages assessed?

The project intends to make the remanufacturing education attractive and relevant by enabling interested people and experts to interact and share experiences as well as using online tools and gamification.
