The City of Mannheim has been actively protecting the climate for many years: a climate protection concept was developed as early as 2008 and is currently being updated for the period 2020 to 2030. Unlike other large cities, however, there is still no long-term climate protection concept in the sense of a "Masterplan 100% Klimaschutz" (100 per cent climate protection master plan), which deals with the development perspective up to 2050.
Therefore, the Wuppertal Institute prepared in close consultation with the client a structure that an energy framework concept to be prepared can have.
