DACE

Data-Competence Center Circular Economy

  • Project no.353165
  • Duration 11/2023 - 11/2026

The overarching goal of DACE is to create and strengthen skills in the holistic handling of CE data. DACE aims to structure, consolidate and improve the CE data situation through research, empowerment and transfer. DACE is intended to become a contact point for data expertise in the field of the circular economy (CE) and relies on three main pillars in the areas of learning, research and networking to impart the necessary skills: DACE Academy, DACE Space and DACE Hub.

The DACE Academy aims to train scientists, students and users in the handling of CE data. The DACE Academy offers a two-stage certificate programme with basic and advanced courses as well as a mentoring programme.
The DACE Space focuses on the further development of data-oriented basic research, transfer research and application research for CE data. It aims to create a basis for needs analysis, methods for collecting and processing CE data and best practice methods for products such as the battery passport.
The DACE Hub aims to connect students, academia, industry, administration, and young professionals. A digital networking platform identifies partners and competences, while the CE Data Competence Summits organise conferences to discuss problems and research results. The DACE Hub will also provide guidelines and recommendations for action based on DACE Space research results.

Thus, DACE closes an important gap in the research and learning landscape. Firstly, because a large amount of data that is relevant for measuring and managing CE cannot yet be recorded or measured. Secondly, because the relevant stakeholders are not yet aware that this data is even available in the CE context.
