Stefan Bringezu was Appointed Professor at University of Kassel

In October 2011, Dr. Stefan Bringezu was appointed professor for this new field of research and education. He is director at the Wuppertal Institute leading the research group on material flows and resource management.

In the graduate education center for environmental research he will provide actual knowledge for orientation and on methods. At the Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR) the professorship will strengthen and further develop the research on sustainable energy and material flows management (NEST), and thus enhance the collaboration between the University of Kassel and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy which started with a formal agreement in 2006.

The research will focus on three fields: analysis of global resource consumption, study of renewable energies and critical resource use, and the options for a regenerative resource base.
