Verena Katja Streitferdt earned her PhD with her thesis "Optimising energy efficiency finance in emerging economies in Southeast Asia" at the University of Technology Sydney. She investigated the relationship between public and private sector efforts to optimise energy efficiency finance initiatives in an emerging country context, using Thailand as a case study. In the course of her studies, she repeatedly visited the Wuppertal Institute and conducted research within the research group Energy, Transport and Climate Policy. Wuppertal Institute's Timon Wehnert co-supervised her PhD thesis.

The thesis is the first outcome of the cooperation of the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Sydney and the Wuppertal Institute. It is available for free download.
