Triggering the Low Carbon Transition

Conference in Paris on carbon pricing

  • Events 03.07.2017

CIRED (Centre International deRecherches sur l’Environnement et le Développement), a member of the Steering Group of the LCS-RNet (Low Carbon Society Research Network), organises a conference under the theme of "Triggering the Low Carbon Transition" in Paris, France. Guided by the topic "Articulating Carbon Pricing and Climate Finance", the objective of the conference is to discuss with experts the implications of the Stern-Stiglitz Commission outcomes (see "Report of the High-Level Commission on Carbon Prices", published in May 2017). Because of France's new government and the progress of the approach of climate finance, two years after the LCS-RNet Position Statement on COP21, the conference is of great importance.

Wuppertal Institute's Hermann Ott will participate in a round-table discussion with Jean Charles Hourcade from CIRED and Ecole des Ponts Paristech, Emilio la Rovere from UFRJ/COPPE and Michele Pappalardo from the French Ministry of the Environment.

Further information on this event as well as the given report and statement can be found on the LCS-RNet website.
