Keine sozial-ökologische Transformation ohne Feminismus!?

Think tank in Hamburg

  • Events 20.10.2017

In the political mainstream debates on socio-ecological transformation, feminist perspectives are rarely and systematically included. The inclusion of gender perspectives in political debates on sustainability can reveal power relations. Gender perspective needs a comprehensive socio-ecological transformation based on social justice. In the think tank, the organisers want to discuss the status and significance of feminist perspectives in the political debates on social-ecological transformation. In this context, blind spots and relevant potentials for transformation from a feminist perspective will be discussed. In addition, the organizers also encourage critical discussion about the precautionary economy and to gain impulses for the further development of a concept. Guests will also have the opportunity to exchange views on how feminist perspectives can be made more visible in the debates on social-ecological transformation and how they can be introduced politically.

PD Dr. Uta von Winterfeld (Project Co-ordinator of the Research Group Future Energy and Mobility Structures, Wuppertal Institute) is co-organizer of the think tank. Further information on the event can be found at the following link.
