  • Project no.2228
  • Duration 10/2005 - 12/2005

In the context of the German-Iranian cooperation on climate policy and sustainable development initiated in the year 2002, and after having carried out several workshops and the pre-study "Solar Thermal Energy in Iran", the Iranian partner CEERS has conducted a study "Evaluation of Long-Term Energy Policies in Iran". This study was supervised by the Wuppertal Institute in close co-operation with Ö-quadrat.
The study gives an overview on long-term energy policies in Iran, analyses the current energy prices and the factors determining them and describes Iran's activities in the field of (international) climate protection. The study shall serve as a base for a more comprehensive study on a long-term sustainable energy strategy for Iran, which shall focus on energy efficiency and renewable energies.
