Lifestyle@pro-Klima is about optimising the use of ICT (information and communication technology) to achieve energy savings and emission reductions. A central aspect is the user-integrated development of materials and instruments, which are developed together with young people, teachers and multipliers through innovative approaches. These include an ICT climate calculator, action weeks and competitions at schools, as well as educational materials that establish a direct link between individual lifestyles and climate protection.
The primary target group of the project are young people between the ages of 12 and 19 in Germany. Lifestyle@pro-Klima will involve young people and teachers at least 30 schools in the prototype development of the calculator and the learning materials. In addition, the measures planned in the project address parents and educators as important contacts for the young people as well as multipliers, e.g. educational institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), science and politics to disseminate the project results.
The project consists of 11 work packages which are based on each other. These can be divided into three work areas:
The project is carried out in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute and the German Society Club of Rome e.V.
