Ecodesign Preparatory Studies

The general subject of the Framework Contract ENER/C3/2012-418 "Lot 1" is to elaborate preparatory studies and related technical assistance on specific product groups listed in the Ecodesign Working Plans, basing on the Methodology for Energy-Related Products (MEErP) for preparatory studies in the context of the Ecodesign and Energy labelling Directives. The technical assistance to the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission (DG ENER) consists in analysing significant amounts of data as well as reviewing and adapting them according to the existing directives. These result from complex technical, environmental, economic, legal and social aspects when preparing and adopting new implementing measures as well as reviewing existing Ecodesign and Energy Labelling regulations.

Together with VITO (The Flemish Institute for Technological Research, Belgium), the Wuppertal Institute contributes to the consultancy for the DG ENER in the context of the product groups:
