Waste Prevention: Study Identifies Suitable Measures for National Programme

Article 29 of the EU Waste Framework Directive requires Member States to establish waste prevention programmes by December 2013. In preparation of such a programme for Germany, a research project by Oeko-Institut and Wuppertal Institute commissioned by Federal Environment Agency (UBA) identified waste prevention measures currently carried out or recognised as suitable in Germany and other countries. 296 individual measures were compiled.
