There's a lot going on in the international carbon market: The supervisory body of the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM) is taking bold steps to finalise the outstanding technical work in order to deliver a robust and reliable framework for the compliance market. Simultaneously, numerous initiatives, such as the IC-VCM’s Core Carbon Principles, aim at strengthening integrity and quality in the voluntary markets.

On the occasion of the Innovate4Climate (I4C) flagship conference, the authors of the Carbon Mechanisms Review therefore are taking stock and present a tour d’horizon, beginning with an overview on Article 6 implementation by the A6IP team, followed by a closer look at the PACM itself and its current state.

Also in this issue: Thailand's innovative Carbon Market Framework, a new series on purchasing programmes using the example of the Global Green Growth Institute's Carbon Transaction Facility, an interview with the new coordinator of the Eastern Africa Alliance on Carbon Markets, as well as an opinion piece on strategies to both enhance capacity building and increase demand.
