Sustainable Energy Consumption and Lifestyles in Poor Households and those at Risk of Poverty

The project NELA examines energy consumption in poor households and those that are endangered by poverty. It develops data founded measures for energy efficiency and energy saving. Energy consumption in its various specifications, its driving factors and causes is examined by using qualitative methods. In addition to the generation of founded knowledge, potentials for energy efficiency and the reduction of energy consumption (and therefore the reduction of costs as well) shall be identified and strategies and target group specific measures shall be developed, so that energy efficiency and reduction can be connected with an improvement of living standards in poor households and those that are endangered by poverty. Environmental and socio-economic aims are closely interlocked in this project.
