Assessing Global Land Use: Balancing Consumption with Sustainable Supply

The project aims at the integration of key results of the IRP Report "Assessing Global Land Use - Balancing Consumption with Sustainable Supply" - such as the suggested target of 0.20 ha/person cropland use for consumption - into scientific modelling. It shall also provide input to the IRP's strategy debate on the further pursuit of global resource governance.

The project shall provide three deliverables:
(1) A publication on: The land footprint of the EU bioeconomy: monitoring tools, gaps and needs
(2) A publication on: Modeling global land requirements of the European bioeconomy: gaps, needs and the integration of global land use targets
(3) Input to the internal discussion of the International Resource Panel on the consistent implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
