The European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ECEEE) is producing a series of policy guides on energy sufficiency. The Wuppertal Institute develops the policy guide on energy sufficiency in buildings. The guides are intended to provide policy makers with a practical understanding of the concept of energy sufficiency, and of how it can inform the design of policies that deliver reductions in energy use.

The guidelines are based on an analysis of current European trends regarding energy sufficiency in buildings, an estimation of saving potentials, and a review of current policies that support or dicourage sufficiency in buildings.
