Förderbanken im Wandel

Evolution zu nachhaltigen Transformationsbanken

  • Publications 08.12.2022

Every year, development banks in Germany allocate at least 200 billion euros in funds for investments that could otherwise not be implemented or would be realized much later. They work on behalf of the public and align their activities with societal goals. These goals have evolved. In view of climate change, the energy crisis and the challenges of a circular economy, both the states and the federal government want to restructure their development banks. The development banks of the federal states in particular must therefore now prepare themselves for the "further development of development banks into transformation banks". This Zukunftsimpulse shows how this can be done and recommends some measures.
