The project realises a study about a Green New Deal for Europe, which has two basic functions: First, to fight against the economical crisis through investment measures for the stimulation of eco-industries in order the create jobs and economical recovery. Second, to initiate a green modernisation of the European economy.
The Green New Deal should therefore
1. break up unsustainable structures,
2. build up sustainable structures,
3. give the right mid- to long-term orientation.
Existing EU strategies, policies and programmes are examined to check if they are appropriate for a Green New Deal and measures are suggested in the field of sustainable energy, mobility and resource policy.
