Factors for Successful Setting-Up of Businesses in the Field of Renewable Energies

  • Project no.1141
  • Duration 01/2008 - 01/2009

The Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovations Research jointly explore technical innovations in the field of renewable energies and the resulting successful setting-up of businesses. The project was commissioned by the Berlin Institute of Technology (TU Berlin) within the framework of the Project "Innovation Biography Renewable Energies" (Innovationsbiografie Erneuerbare Energien).
The aims of the project are:

  • an improved control of future innovation processes in the field of renewable energy technologies by identifying first and foremost technical innovations and their carriers into renewable energy markets;
  • the identification of relevant factors for the successful setting-up of businesses in renewable energy markets in Germany;
  • the analysis of these factors regarding how they could be influenced from the outside, considering their contribution to business success and the market development of renewable energies;
  • to deduce recommendations for politics to develop an appropriate framework to foster the successful and sound application of renewable energies.

The findings of the project will be compiled and published in a brochure by the TU Berlin as a part of the "Innovation Biography Renewable Energies" research project.
