Capacity Building: Good Framework Conditions for the Dissemination of Low-Carbon Technologies - Series of Workshops with Parliamentarians in Poland

  • Project no.250979
  • Duration 10/2016 - 04/2017

Large potentials exist in Poland to use renewable energy and improve energy efficiency. However, these potentials are hardly tapped. Many politicians, policy makers and energy experts are rather reluctant towards low-carbon technologies. In many cases, information gaps on the potentials of these technologies exist. Against this background, the partners Ecofys, Instytut Jagielloski and Wuppertal Institute have developed four factsheets on different aspects of renewable energy and energy efficiency, both containing lessons learnt from Germany and an assessment of potentials in Poland. These factsheets were presented and discussed in a series of workshops in Warsaw in April 2017 with experts and members of the Polish parliament. The Wuppertal Institute was responsible for an assessement of employment effects of the German Energy Transition.

The project was supported by the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) as part of the Advisory Assistance Programme of the German Ministry for the Envirionment (BMUB).
