Bridging the Raw Materials Knowledge Gap for Reuse and Remanufacturing Professionals

  • Project no.350781, 351150
  • Duration 07/2016 - 06/2018

Within the frame of the EIT KIC Raw Materials consortium, this project aims to develop life-long education services tailor-made for the needs of the reuse and remanufacturing sector in Europe. Reuse and remanufacturing offer significant economic and environmental potentials for Europe, which so far are widely untapped - especially with regard to knowledge gaps and services to overcome them. The overall objective of this KAVA activity is to bundle and strengthen the expertise of the KIC Raw Materials consortium to deliver lifelong education in the field of reuse, repairing and remanufacturing of products, and in this way to reduce the demand for raw materials in Europe. The project includes the following steps:

  • mapping of relevant stakeholders and step-up of an institutional framework for cooperation, and bringing together expertise from the so far often separated fields of reuse and remanufacturing
  • identification of knowledge gaps
  • development of specific life-long education services, inter alia developing an online course in at least three languages and conducting at least two workshops on reuse and remanufacturing for raw material professionals.
