Within the EIT KIC Raw Materials consortium, this project aims to develop entrepreneurial support services tailor-made for the needs of the reuse- and the remanufacturing sector in Europe. Both reuse and remanufacturing offer significant economic and environmental potentials for Europe, which so far are widely untapped - especially with regard to barriers for innovative business models and services to overcome them. The overall objective of this KAVA activity would be to bundle and strengthen the expertise of the KIC Raw Materials to deliver ESS in the field of reuse, repairing and remanufacturing of products and in this way to reduce the demand for raw materials in Europe. The project will address specific needs of these customers to develop and test new business models in the field of reuse. This will include the development of so far lacking platforms to exchange experiences and relevant information on key success factors for reuse networks. Those factors do comprise challenges in the field of reverse logistics, collection concepts and specific business plans. They also include networks and institutional structures beyond the national or mainly even regional level that would allow to develop sufficient economics of scale and sufficient raw material expertise.
