On behalf of the Ministry of Climate Protection, Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection NRW, the Wuppertal Institute developed a concept of participation, which includes a draft for the organisational and content-related framework, in which stakeholders in NRW are involved in the selection of climate protection measures that aim to reach the goals of reducing and adjusting emissions.
Central parts of this project are a model of greenhouse gases emissions for NRW until the year 2050 and the description of climate protection measures on the basis of key criteria for the monitoring of the participation process.
The plan for climate protection shall include essential climate protection measures that aim to reach the goals of climate protection of the Climate Change Bill. It will be developed in a participative process directly assisted by relevant stakeholders in NRW (such as businesses, consumer associations, trade unions etc.).
