How do I apply?
Please submit your application by e-mail to bewerbung@wupperinst.org. You can also do this directly by clicking on the “Apply now” button below the relevant job advertisement.

What language should I submit my application in?
You can submit your application in German or English. Ideally, use the language of the job advertisement as a guide.

I am interested in more than one of the advertised positions. Can I apply for more than one position at the same time?
Yes, you can. Please send us a separate application for each job reference.

Can I send a speculative application?
Yes, you are welcome to submit a speculative application. If you do, your documents will remain in our pool of applicants for up to six months and will be checked against any new vacancies. After six months, your documents will be deleted. Please also refer to our privacy policies for more information about this.

What format should I submit my documents in?
Please send your application documents as a PDF file with a maximum total size of 10 MB by e-mail to bewerbung@wupperinst.org.

What documents will I need to send with my application?
Please submit the following documents:

  •     Motivation letter
  •     CV 
  •     Relevant school leaving or degree certificates 
  •     Certificates of employment or references from current or previous employers 
  •     Any relevant certificates of further education, if applicable

What will happen to my personal data during and after the application process?
Rest assured that we will treat your personal data as confidential. Please refer to our privacy policies for more information.

How long will I need to wait for a response to my application? How long will the selection process take?
You will receive a confirmation of receipt immediately after you submit your online application. In general, the process takes two to six weeks from the application deadline to the hiring decision. However, the time taken is influenced by various factors and can vary depending on the position being advertised.

What will happen after I submit my application?
We will take the time to look at your application carefully. If you make it onto our shortlist, we will invite you to an interview, which in most cases will take place virtually. A second, face-to-face meeting will then be held at our Institute.

Will my expenses be reimbursed if I have to travel to a face-to-face interview?
As a general rule, we reimburse travel expenses based on the cost of using public transport (second-class tickets).
