  • Since 2008: Researcher at the Wuppertal Institute
  • 2004 - 2007: Free assistant and project director at the agency for applied social studies in Wuppertal
  • 2000 - 2006: Student, graduate assistant and research assistant at the Wuppertal Institute

Research Focus

  • Information and communication in the field of energy and industrial transformation
  • Development of participatory procedures and local empowerment processes for shaping transformation processes
  • Social acceptance of low-carbon technologies, such as carbon capture and storage (CCS), but also of flexibilisation technologies and smart digital applications
  • Analysis of innovation strategies for successful implementation of sustainable structural change (creation of system, transformation and target knowledge)

Teaching

  • Since 2007 various lectureships and guest lectures at different universities (Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Universität zu Köln, Technische Hochschule Köln, Hochschule Düsseldorf)
  • From 2015 - 2017, member of the research association of the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and acatech
  • Since 2016, participation in committees for individual federal states, e.g., the state of Baden-Württemberg, as well as assumption of various expert activities
